David E. Ashford, 52, of Mountain Top, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, died July 12 in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was married to Melisa (Shaw) Ashford for 17 years in February. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Texas, he was plant manager for Stroehmann-Maier's Bakery, Palmer Township, and previously worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakery, Fort Worth, Texas. Born in Spring, Texas, he was a son of the late Earl and Dimple (Jones) Ashford. He was a member of the American Institute of Baking. Survivors: Wife; sons, L. Rocky Castro and Robert D. Ashford, both at home; daughter, Dava M. Ashford of Houston, Texas; brothers, Jimmy of Willis, Texas, Larry of Fort Collins, Co. Services: to be announced.
